A family member was transferred from another hospital's ER to Unity Point Health - Meriter, Madison, WI, after we confirmed with their team that we would have opportunities to share pertinent information, communicate with the treating team, and address other ongoing physical medical needs that another physician overseas. Unfortunately, upon their arrival, these assurances were not honored, which negatively impacted care. Specifically: Information Sharing: We were not allowed to share critical medical information upon arriv... read more

Brandie D. was amazing! VERY informative and a NO BS type of gal! She told me exactly what was going on and was very thoughtful in her delivery. All of her staff was fabulous! HIGHLY recommend this clinic. I was in and out in less than 1 hour. 5 HUGE STARS!!!!

Review on Dr. Donald YAKEL & staff I was referred to Dr Yakel for intermittent chest pains. My initial impression of Dr & the staff, was professional, pleasant & thorough in testing & assessment. They receive only 3 stars because Dr told me that after the final results were in I'd return for a follow up at no additional charge. I specifically asked if there would be an additional follow up charge. I received email confirmation that I had no issues & no further tests needed. I cancelled my follow up appt. His office called ... read more

Went in with 4 minor skin issues. None were fixed, was told I needed a second appointment and yet was charged $750.

My sister was recently cared for in this facility for a period of about 9 days. She did not want to be there. She wanted to be at home. Having said that, she told me that everyone was very nice to her and she could not even think of anything negative to say about the care that she received. I am very grateful and appreciative of the staff at this facility.

We saw the same provider, Alex, ARNP two separate times for our daughter. With her having apparent symptoms, she said "she is healthy" and did not provide us with anything to do differently to help her. When questioned about the current medication we were providing her and the dosage, Alex quickly said just keep doing what you are doing and left the room. Interestingly, I had her seen by another provider who instantly said she needed oral antibiotics for her ear. I question how much my daughter suffered due to the incompeten... read more

Suicidal loved one? DON’T bring them here unless they are bleeding and Meriter is a last resort. Suicide attempt, suicidal ideations, history of suicidal hospitalization, a 911 police transport to ER with social worker intervention are not enough to get care. It doesn’t matter. Unless you are bleeding. Apparently, life threatening injury is required for admission. I don’t think that is right.

The first time my mom went in it took them 2 hours to find a cup so she could get a drink of water. The most recent hospitalization, 3 times she asked for a cup of coffee in the morning and was told "Cream or sugar, I'll be right back.!" and no one ever came back. She was told she would be discharged in an hour or two so she called for a ride home but it took them 4 hours to produce the paperwork for her to go home.

Just make sure to call the nurses station 1 hour in advance of anything you need. Then call them 20 minutes before , then call them 20 minutes after and 40 minutes after If you are in really desperate need This place really doesn't care.
