Sam is really friendly and cordial in person but hires workers who don't know what they're doing and then refuses to stand behind their work. We asked him to install a marmoleum floor along with a subfloor for our kitchen. He assured us that he knew how to do this and was familiar with the product. His workers, however, apparently were not. They put in a subfloor that wasn't adequately secured to the joists, so that the boards soon popped free and ultimately split the surface covering of the floor. I asked Sam at United Flooring came to my house to give an opinion on what material I should use to replace my existing carpet flooring. Sam suggested Strand Bamboo, he said it would be the best for my floor due to the high humidity in my house and that bamboo is moisture resistant. He explained that there's a sheet of film on one side of the pad under the bamboo flooring, which helps prevent moisture from coming up from the crawl space through the subfloor.
