I was afraid seeing all the negative comments on here but my experience was completely different. The staff is very respectful and thankful for the donations. They explained the process as I was a first time donor here. They encourage you to take snacks and drinks. I had a great experience donating blood at Vitalant in Albuquerque! The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The facility was clean and well-organized, and they took the time to explain everything clearly. I appreciate their dedication to saving lives and making donors feel valued. I won't go back unless I am assured they are employing licensed phlebotomy techs. I went in to donate platelets today and left after an aborted, painful experience. This was not the first time. My husband left with a big hematoma after only part of the donation was drawn last time he went to donate blood.
Booked an appointment online for 3:45p today. Got the confirmation email and completed the Fast Track history check 3hrs ahead of time. I arrived at the address on the email, Google and website at 3:40p only to be met with a locked door. The sign on the door even said that Sundays they closed at 4p. I tried the 505 number on the same sign, it was out of service. I even saw someone leave through the exit only door while I attempted to call. Sooo yeah, just a waste of time.
