This is a FOR PROFIT store, please don't donate here – Fifteen years ago, I lived very close to Unique and started visiting. I don't think there was an item in there that was over $5. Things were nicely organized. I could get great clothes, brand new shoes, and some wonderful antiques and collectibles. It is not like that anymore. Prices are too high, even on discount days. Know your prices before you shop or you will pay too much! And forget about finding antiques in good condition. They're just not there any more that make... read more

Rude Thrift Chain – Don't waste your time going there. The prices there are rediculously high for USED items. Even when you go on their 20% off days and sometimes even 50% off, you're still getting ripped off. Many of the employees are EXTREMELY RUDE. I've been ripped off by snotty cashiers and over heard people getting kicked out of fitting rooms because they took too long or had too much clothes. If you want good prices, go to Goodwill, Saint Vincent or any other thrift store. Their prices are a lot cheaper than the Unique... read more

NOT SO FUN ANYMORE – I understand that the state of the economy drives everything; far more people shop thrift than ever before--I'm guessing Unique has quadrupled it's customers. BUT they have also raised their prices and sadly, they're taking advantage of the base of people who have been supporting their business for years (I am one of them.) I can ONLY afford to shop there now on the discount days (I have a "V.I.P." card.)

Unique Thrift Store, Uniquely High Prices On Used Goods – Since 1998 I have been a huge fan of Unique Thrift Store, My phone number was very similar to theirs, I would get a lot of calls for them. S000---I decided to find out who they were, and I was hooked. However over the past 4-5 years I have notice an unusual increase in prices. How can they charge over 10:00 for used shoes, and clothing. Some of the pieces of clothing are new with tags on yet, that I can understand a higher price for. Last time I was there i set my clo... read more

Going downhill fast – I have enjoyed shopping here in the past, but I swear the place must be under new management. There are two issues of concern: (1) Prices have gone sky-high compared to other area thrift shops, and (2) there are new employees who make Unique a scary and unsafe place to shop. It's not just the loafing that gets me - it's the attitude. On June 30, I took my elderly mother to Unique and when we came out, three employees were sitting on the hood of my Mom's car, smoking, while about six others milled around... read more

Very expensive electronics: research before compulsive buys – I shopped this location on April 20th, 2010 looking for a television, and found the electronics were priced at outrageous prices. I saw a JBL theater system from the late 90s priced at $250, much more pricey than if you were to buy a more modern, and advanced system from Best Buy. I saw television sets starting at $50 for something decent, going up to $100 for the best one they had. Needless to say, I walked out in disgust, went on craigslist, and bought a tv for ... read more

Worst Thrift Experience in the Cities – Yes, Unique is highly organized. Everything you could want is nicely hung on racks by size. No other thrift store can compare in that fact. HOWEVER, their customer service and store policies are the absolute worst! First, they charge you $20 per day to hold large pieces of furniture, AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED IT. Any other thrift store gladly holds things for you while you arrange transportation. Second, I have had items literally ripped from my hands by managers who refused to sell it ... read more

Always a Good Deal! – Mondays are always 25% off at Unique, and I have found countless items that have been worn maybe 1 or 2 times before someone ditched them. Recently they added a fitting room, which makes it even better. This winter I picked up a Colombia Coat for $5. What's not to like? The only downfalls are that it's very busy on Mondays, and it doesn't smell the greatest.

I have been going to the Unique thrift stores around the TC area. Lately I am absolutely FLOORED by the prices they are charging particularly for used footwear and clothing. They want department store prices for these used items. More and more I am walking out of their stores with nothing to buy because their prices are too much for me. OUTRAGEOUS PRICES
