As a parent of 2 sons that moved into 2 different communities a day a part in 2 different states...I can tell you that Union is a beautifully kept complex. The move in process was smooth and the number of times that we called, stopped in and emailed have always been met with professionalism and kindness.
DON'T live here. I only moved here because it was the only place still available when I moved to UNC. INFESTED with bugs and cockroaches. I am an extremely clean person AND lived on the 3rd floor and kept finding cockroaches in the apartment. I kept filling out maintenance requests that claimed they would "spray" but they kept coming back so I eventually did it myself. I would strongly recommend against living here. I stayed here for two years, and deeply regretted staying my second year. We constantly had issues with humidity and "mildew" (looked like mold), in our apartment, which was never properly addressed. Our utility bill increased almost every month even during months like December and the summer months when we were out of town, and despite one of our roommates moving out. Our child lived here for 1 yr as a student at UNC. Very disappointing experience. They would never come and fix any repair requests on time. After move out, they billed for several issues which were brought to their attention on multiple occasions. Accounting practices are questionable. I am glad our child stayed for just 1 yr. We spoke to the parent company billing department with proof. No use. They don't care and sent it to a collection agency. We wouldn't recommend this place to any body. Stay away.
