I was seen at the Gynecology Invasive Clinic Today in Hillsboro and regretted driving the hour and half drive. The Nurse Practitioner dismissed my pain immediately. I have a history of abnormal abdominal bleeding and I have endometriosis. I have tried several hormonal treatments and been to the Therapist they recommend my pain has only gotten worse and so have my cycles. I have put off having a hysterectomy in the past. Had my first annual visit here and I would definitely recommend this clinic! Everything went smoothly - scheduling, check in, waiting, care, and follow ups. Dr. Swantic and the nurse Carly were very attentive and considerate. I never felt rushed and was able to explore some fertility concerns outside of the traditional family planning purview. Looking forward to continuing my care here.
I was referred to UNC and Dr. Asha McClurg specifically for a surgical procedure. Dr. McClurg and the entire care team were absolutely wonderful. On the day of my procedure, each member of the team introduced themselves to me and answered any questions I had. Dr. McClurg even held my hand while they administered anesthesia because she knew I was nervous. From the nurses, to the doctors, residents, and medical students, everyone was caring, compassionate, and attentive to my needs.
I made an appointment to see a provider that was personally recommended to me, as I have had negative gynecology experiences in the past. A change was made to my provider without my knowledge or consent — I paid $100 and drove 30 minutes to a practice in a different town just to meet with a completely different doctor than I had scheduled with, which was a surprise to me when I checked in.
