Completely dirty 🤢 patient room: blood on the walls, needle pieces and other medical equipment on the floor, floor never has been, trash overflowing, sink not cleaned, paint chipping off the walls Bathroom: tissue everywhere, trash overflowing, floor dirty! Scared to use and would rather pee myself. I’m here for and ectopic pregnancy emergency and I’m afraid I’ll contract a disease here if I take my clothes off.
It wasn't my worst ER experience but it's far from good. The children that staff the ER simply don't have enough experience to be any good. UNC could benefit from hiring more people with significant experience working in medicine to guide the children. They didn't get my complaint correct at all. The notes from my visit were laughable. I told them so much and what was recorded shows that nobody was listening. When it was time to leave, the nurse removed my IV. Then proceeded to take a BP on the same arm. Updates: we went to UNC emergency department at Hillsborough , they have cleaner waiting room, nicer staffs. And reasonable waiting policies. Highly recommended there( 11miles away from UNC chapel hill emergency) (10/8/2025) Totally agree with the other comments about the ridiculous wait times. They kept moving ‘more severe’ patients ahead of us—even if they arrived later—without telling us how much longer we’d have to wait or whether our case even needed the ER. Honestly, the 1 star is a shame because normally I have a decent experience here, but this time was so bad it deserves it. The doctor who saw my fiancee and I never spoke to her once unless directed to, and twice threw other patients in her face (as for a reason why my fiancee needed to hurry up). She was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional, but my issue with that is, if someone else is dying in an ER, my heart goes out to them, but that's not my problem and never in my life have I had a doctor do something like that... read more
