DO NOT COME HERE!!! Go somewhere else. I come to this ER for years, used to be the best one ever. Used to be so vibrant and showing their true love for their job. But ever since covid, Doctors and Staff in this hospital gotten lazy and don't care. They really just give you medicine and then leave. No blood tests, no thorough tests. My daughter had a special port that can only be accessed by apheresis or VIR. We were told that there was a staffing issue and my daughter couldn't get the proper blood cultures drawn and she ended up having a bacterial infection. Today 11/23/23 We are back at the emergency room. My daughter's ports had to be removed because of the bacterial infection and she's in need of an IV. It's amazing how poorly run this place is.
I am writing to share my family's recent experience at UNC ER in Chapel Hill. My son went to ER about a couple of months ago with severe stomach pain. After waiting for several hours, an ultrasound was ordered and he was told that they could not find anything. He was asked to follow-up with his PCP which he did. However, the PCP delayed providing the referral to see a gastroenterologist. In the meantime, my son continued to suffer with stomach cramps which became unbearable on Jan. 18, 2026. Do your best at not coming here. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Nurses are rude as hell and I hope when you're having your EMERGENCY you make sure to call 5 hours ahead of time because thats how long you will be waiting if not longer
