Absolutely atrocious. I went there about 20 months ago. Had issues with vision. A tech did the eye exam. The doctor came in for less than a minute and looked at what the tech did and said, "So this looks good; any questions?" I was floored. Went to the Duke eye center in early April. They found significant cataracts in both eyes and age-related Macular Degeneration in both eyes. HOW DID UNC MISS THIS? I was stunned. Getting surgeries in May and June. UNC Kittner Eye Center is a full-blown joke! Steer clear.
Worst experience ever with a healthcare facility. We were referred here by our eye doctor to address cataracts. We asked if they took our insurance and were in our network. They assured us they were and we scheduled her surgery. We were given the opportunity to get an upgraded lens because we were letting a resident perform the surgery. Surgery was had and my wife sees a floating object in her eye. No only that, we were build for the upgraded lens and our insurance denied the claim as they were out of network.
