What’s more frustrating than the lack of professionalism, knowledge and ability with UNC HOMECARE specialist is the fact that I have to leave one star instead of being able to just leave none. After a week of trying to get a hold of somebody, not having calls returned, finally pleading my case with an uninformed and uninterested recipient on the other end, I was able to get an appointment to have a machine that is supposed to be helping me stay alive be looked at. Management has a complete lack of integrity. I ordered cpap resupply expecting Medicare to cover it. I received a call about a week later telling me that there might be an issue getting them to cover my order. Another couple weeks later I call asking how it's going and they suggest they can go ahead and send it while working things out. I said fine. Another week later I get my supplies. My machine has the water unit stuck. Not stuck in the front where I might be responsible, but clearly some sort of detaching issue in the back. After calling several times, I finally got an appointment to repair it but I missed it. That part is completely on me, though I thought I’d get an appointment reminder like all other UNC appointments (I got the call back to make the appointment while traveling on a business trip for UNC and forgot to write down the exact time). It’s amazing that UNC uses this business. My experience is similar to others that post negative feedback. A poorly trained employee did not provide the correct information which result in getting the wrong equipment they refused to take back. Their suggestion was as to order the correct item from Amazon that I would have to pay for. Of course they charged BCBS for the wrong item. I just want to share how grateful we are for unc home care specialists prompt response getting my husband on oxygen AND helping us get ready for a big trip requiring multiple oxygen batteries and charger for the portable oxygen concentrator in an extremely short amount of time. Without their care and attention, we would have had to cancel our BIG trip. Ed, John, Lucio, Emma, Alex Lonnie and Joe were part of making this happen and we can’t thank them enough.
