My son was supposed to receive services through UNC Children’s OT at Blue Ridge. Instead, UNC redirected his appointment to UNC Center for Rehabilitation Care on 1807 Fordham Blvd, despite my clear request for a pediatric setting. This occurred after prior concerns about access to appropriate services. My appointment went well, but watching a “trainer” sitting behind a new employee at checkout, absorbed in a video game on his phone, completely eroded my trust in this office. Leadership sets the standard — and that level of disengagement is unacceptable. It reflects poorly on the culture and professionalism of the entire practice.

I had a great speech pathologist here, so this rating does not reflect the care. Everyone I met there was wonderful... however, my services were billed as hospital services so my outpatient speech therapy services were not covered. Instead of $150 I was expecting for each visit, I was charged $300 - $400 for each visit, months later, after I kept having visits. My insurance company said the visits needed to be changed to a different CPT code to reflect outpatient, but I cannot get ANYONE on the phone to help me. When I calle... read more

Poor is an understatement. Treated by a great doctor there who left the UNC train wreck, Dr Mina Gayed. The overall organization of UNC School of Medicine/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is so uninformed and disorganized. They cancel an appointment four months in advance. No staff can schedule me for another appointment, staff does not know what doctors work there and what they actually do and/or treat. I would not waste your time hoping for good treatment with their overall lack of care for people who have problems.
