Went in to close my accounts since I rarely used the accounts I had with umpqua/columbia. Usually, umpqua bank locations are pretty chipper and inviting. I'm not sure what is/was going on with this location, but it was not very inviting at all. It felt like walking into a failing casino (think circus circus). The carpet was real busy and old and there were only 2 people working. I can only assume it was a manager and a universal associate. I got what I needed to get done, but it was just sort of depressing.
Wow, so disappointing. Open a business account a few days ago, made a $7800 deposit and that was it, no access to the account. I was promised an onboarding email yesterday and still nothing.
Terrible customer service. We made an appointment, the lady came out at our appointment time to tell us she hadn't check the appointments for the day and was going to help someone else first.
Information hacked, how could this happen to a bank?
I was told, when I bought a couple of CD's, that the interest rates at Umpqua we're low because of the economy. I believed them and got a couple anyway with the belief that interest rates would eventually increase and I could reinvest with a greater return later. Same story next year. I then looked into other bank's intrest rates to find that most were at were at 1% ,2%, or at least two points higher than Umpqua .If you are looking to grow your money short term definitely shop around.
