I was diagnosed with Acute Myleiod Leukemia and was sent to the Jackson Cancer Institute for confirmation. It was confirmed and my Doctor, Dr Elikson and her Nurse Practitioner, Brittany and Angel who get my Vital Signs, and the check in receptionist at the 1st window all the time and Genie the phlebotomist, All were and are the BEST! The cancer institute is a good place but when it comes to lab work it’s down right ridiculous my daughter had to wait over an hour to get labs because she has a port they have four people who stick people vs two who does ports and pick lines it’s ridiculous of the wait time.

My wife was diagnosed and treated for stage 3 lung cancer here in 2015. Over the years we have had the best of care. From the initial surgery to the following chemotherapy, the doctors, nurses and staff were nothing but caring and professional. All of our follow-up scans and check-ups were handled efficiently with same day results. It has been nine cancer free years and I recommend UMMC CANCER INSTITUTE to anyone.
