Extremely disappointed with UMGC. As a military spouse, I was promised that UMGC would do everything possible to help me earn my BA. Instead, I have spent the past year being my own advisor. I had to build my own degree plan, figure out what classes I needed, and chase down multiple departments for basic answers. Even worse, I signed up for MyCAA, which provides eligible military spouses up to $4,000 toward approved education, and UMGC staff repeatedly had no idea what MyCAA was or how to process it. UMGC San Diego (University of Maryland Global Campus at San Diego - Mission Valley) is such an incredible place. The academic advising team that works there is knowledgeable and kind. Great customer service! I was assisted immediately. The military advisor was very friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. Looking forward to transferring to finally be able to finish my undergrad. Life just gets more complicated as I get older. Looking forward to being part of a school that is very supportive towards us working adults. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to start!
