If you value life do not come here the amount of gaslighting from the one nurse with Parkinson-like shakey hands will make you want to go home instead of finishing the meds. There were big bubbles in my IV line and she said “you think that’s possible? It won’t go into you there’s filters on the line” she left and I watched the big ass bubbles make it past all the filters and into my hand vein. I had out patient surgery at the UMMSurgical Center in Laurel last week. A very special thank you to Nurse Rhonda. Her warm and very professional demeanor helped calm my nerves. The anesthesia nurse, was very thorough and very professional. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, it started with a F. Both ladies are truly an asset to the UMMSC.
I want to start by acknowledging the wonderful care my daughter received from the nurses and security staff during our visit. She came in for a mental health episode, and the staff was incredibly helpful and compassionate. In particular, one security staff member, Oliver, was a bright spot in an otherwise difficult time. When I learned that my daughter would need to be hospitalized, Oliver’s kindness and support helped me through an extremely tough moment, and I’m truly grateful for his presence. Don't dare call this place. The numbers on the website do not correspond to the department and when you call the main number you get sent around the hospital to everywhere except where you asked to be transferred.
