Wow I barely know where to start i surprised my wife with a weekend stay at the castle for our 10th anniversary Naomi answered all my questions before we arrived had a nice little anniversary treat for us and was available for us for whatever we needed during our stay Bob her father the owner and designer had breakfast with us both mornings and told us about himself and the castle and the food they prepared was amazing we stayed in the Duchess chamber and it was absolutely beautiful there's so much cool things to explore and... read more
Gorgeous castle! Lots of walking and stairs.
Touring Uhuburg was a very interesting experience. The tour was conducted by the designer/builder and it was clear that the castle was a passion project for him. He spoke extensively about philosophy and the different religious beliefs depicted in the murals around the castle walls. The gardens were also beautiful, full of both native and exotic plants. Another highlight was climbing the tower and taking in the view of the mountains. Loved the scavenger hunt with the prize at the end.
Uhuburg Castle is an awesome experience. The grounds are beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful. Accommodations were top notch. Bob and Janine Marthai are gracious hosts and love to share the story of how the castle came about. There is plenty to do in the Helen area: Wineries, quaint stores, crafts and beautiful scenery. The tour on Saturday was educational and informative. We definitely will return someday.
