10 hours for my grandma to be seen by a doctor after complaining of dizziness and chest pain. Then they gave her a cot in the hallway instead of a room. Refused to tell anyone how long it would be. Nurses sitting on their phones laughing and doing nothing to help. People asking for pain medication and the nurses say sure then making them wait another 5 hours and still nothing. This place and its staff are a joke. Go to HCA instead.
As much as I respect UF for their help I also want to stress that wait times in ER are absolutely ridiculous considering Gainesville is one of the largest medical teaching hospitals in Florida. If you can't keep up with your patients, maybe consider hiring more doctors or nurse practitioners. You should not have to wait in lobby for more than six hours every single time!!!!! RIDICULOUS
Please believe the reviews of this place. They treated my daughter horrendously. We even reported them for multiple EMTALA violations. PLEASE BEWARE. The house supervisor even said he would not treat her if she was “bleeding in the waiting room” All because she had the nerve to complain that she needed to see someone inpatient instead of outpatient because she didn’t have the resources.
