I’m very unhappy I started see drs in the rheumatology department and I say it like this because In the past 6 years I’ve had 3 doctors one left and went up north the other two have had babies one left because of the baby and the other one is only there 3 days a week now and with this I have had 3 appointments rescheduled and the soonest I can get in now to see her is September I had a 6 month appointment in December 2025. Dr. Dina Hammad temporarily took over my rheumatological care for a short period of time last year. During that time span, none of my messages were replied to, and my personal medical concerns were ignored or dismissed by her. Just a few days after, I was admitted into Shands hospital in the IMC unit for a week as a result of the very symptoms she ignored. I would absolutely not recommend this doctor, and if you happen to be under her care currently, please beware.
I have been diagnosed since 2021. Transferred to UF last year. I was already on a treatment that was working, but it was not addressing a co-morbid condition. There was an issue with insurance that resulted in the drug that was working for me to not be submitted for authorization in a timely manner (it was submitted to the wrong insurance). Doctor used this time to work with another specialty to recommend a totally different drug that should address both. I was VERY hesitant but doctor was very adamant that it "should work" ... read more
This place is horrid. Don't waste your time. They are "too busy" to care. Communication is non existent. Appointments are 6 months out. Huge letdown after attending and admiring UF/Shands
Please believe the 1-star reviews that you see on here. UF Health is a poorly run institution, and whoever heads up the Rheumatology department should be removed. The staff is unhelpful and rude, and concerns are never addressed. If you have any sort of concern, they won’t hesitate to tell you to find a different practice to go to rather than helping you solve any issues. UF Health really capitalizes off of being the only research-based hospital in the surrounding area, so customer service and bedside manner are not a concer... read more
