As soon as I calm down & get hydrated, and comfy and clean in my bed, my experiences at Uf Health Shands Vista have become quite pleasant; as long as I can find people who can understand, trust, and believe me. Multiple trips outside and keeping a healthy diet ; looking forward to the meal, shower, and sleep times ; listening to music, staying busy with writing & drawing, attending every group, and sharing my experiences with people who understand is very beneficial for my mental health. i went to this place in 7th grade and it has only made my problems worse from there i was diagnosed before i went there with depression and anxiety and ptsd and was very suicidal with self harming problems the nurses do not care about you the least empathetic people you will ever meet they stare at you when you first get there while you're changing with absolutely no clothes on THEY STARE AT YOU WHILE YOURE CHANGING WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CLOTHES ON the most uncomfortable bed i've ever been in the pillows sound like plastic wrap... read more

My friend was recently admitted to this place and informed me I tried to call the hospital to get updates. I was transferred over to front desk and guess what?? The front desk lady told me that she couldn't provide any info on patient and hung up! Nothing else just flat out click off the phone. Just to find out over the next 2 days from my friend after they got out they tried to keep him longer.And he put me down as emergency contact!! Look up Baker Act!! This place has a low rating for a reason please think twice about this... read more
