I absolutely adore Dr. Al Sad. I highly recommend her. She is kind empathetic and listens to what I am saying. I had a suicide in my life and without her and her teams support I am not sure how I would have made it through the trauma. UCSF has long waiting periods but once you are an established patient the service you receive seems faster.
My wife and I had a terrible experience at this clinic for our 32 week prenatal appointment. In particular when we mentioned some information on fetal movement the doctor midwife scolded us about how we should be monitoring consistently, should be willing to go to the “ER 100 times” and gave clinical information on fetal movements and advice that seemed inaccurate and unrealistic (“the baby should kick everyday exactly at the same time and should roll over at the same time after breakfast, etc.”). I have always had amazing medical service here. The staff have always been really kind. However, the wait times are extremely unpredictable, and despite what their hours say, they will not answer the phone after 4 (I’ve called multiples times at 4:15, and the auto phone tree states they are closed now, starting at 4:30…?)
Dr Al Asad and the staff are highly competent, listen patiently and employ advance, patient friendly technology. I have been trying to find a decent primary care doctor for over three years. The skill set and care provided of this team is extraordinary - especially when compared to other service providers.
