I’m already dealing with a lot having to go to a radiology appointment. The front desk’s phone audio was cutting off so I asked the lady to speak up and she yelled at me.
Called the night before I was supposed to travel down there for a scan to let me know the scanner was down. After I had already taken off work. Told me the next appointment wasn’t until end of February. The appropriate response would be to rebook me asap for as soon as the scanner is up and running. While I love the drs at UCSF, there is something seriously dysfunctional about radiology scheduling.
The people were friendly and the facility was clean. But it was nine THOUSAND dollars for a lumbar MRI. It's $800 if you go to a radiology group on the peninsula or South Bay. I could see it being 2-3x more in sf. But 11x more??? HELL NO. Go somewhere else if you possibly can.
Shout out to Sandy who did my MRI. She was absolutely amazing. I have claustrophobia and she was so helpful in keeping me calm and comfortable.
Warning⚠️☣️ They do not have gadopiclenol. They use older contrast w/ 2x the Gd. UC Davis has safer contrast.
