My seven year old had previously had a traumatic blood draw somewhere else (not at UCSF), and at UCSF, the phlebotomists were so patient, so nice, and helped her overcome her phobia of the needle. My kid said “it just felt like a bug bite” and the phlebotomists all celebrated with her and gave her stickers and squishy star. Best blood draw experience ever!
