After years of struggling with stage 4 endometriosis, Dr. Wenjia Zhang scheduled me for a total hysterectomy (upon request as I wanted everything except my ovaries removed) in Dec 2023. My experience with Dr. Zhang and her team has been nothing less than phenomenal. I had a treatment denied as not medically necessary by my insurance but it seems like the team at UCSF Urogynecology never actually requested the peer-to-peer review with my insurance that might make the treatment covered for me. Then, the person who was handling my case at the urogynecology office seems to have gone on leave without transferring my case to anyone else. Updated review to 3 stars because they began to work with me to get my treatment authorized.

I ended up hanging up after being on hold for 20 minutes just to reschedule an appointment. Unfortunately this is the norm when calling this department.

This office is so unresponsive despite multiple messages thru MyChart and phone calls to the office. Lots of attitude when i finally got a call back, suggesting the problem was that I’d messaged a few people — i was just trying to get help! This practice has devolved in the four years I’ve gone and now seeking another provider altogether.
