I am very impressed with the life saving emergent care that UCONN was able to give my father. On New Year's eve he had been waiting for 16 hrs at an ER in Springfield, MA with the promise that he was a priority. I finally convinced my Dad to leave there and when he arrived at UCONN he was seen immediately. Dr. Robert Karin treated me like a junkie due to a med error in my chart. I didn’t understand this until I was discharged and looked at the paperwork in the car. Right at the top was a Brutrans patch. It’s for weaning people off opioids. This place genuinely is trash. The nurses/doctors could care less if you survive. They’d rather give you sass and attitude while you’re lying in bed with pain. That’s if you’re lucky enough to be admitted. You could be losing an arm, and they would still have you sit in a waiting room until you’re called in.

We went to the UCONN emergency room because we live close by. Had a fever of 104, chills, no appetite, extreme migraines, aches and a recent pulled abcess tooth the day before. Clearly having a bad infection. The receptionist was very nice. He wanted to consult the triage nurses first. From 10 feet away they “triaged” me and said “you’re having a dry socket and you need to go b... read more
