This was my first and last visit to Dr. DeWing. She was so disrespectful. She interrupted me constantly and dismissed my thoughts. She grudgingly okayed what I wanted, but hurried me along like she had better things to do. I'm now doubting if I'm on the right path with my care. Steer clear.
I had high hopes for my appointment with Dr. DeWing, but it was a huge letdown. She barely listened to my concerns and seemed annoyed that I was even there. Even though she reluctantly agreed to my treatment plan, she rushed me out the door so fast I felt completely dismissed. Now I'm second-guessing everything. Avoid Dr. DeWing if you want respectful care.
The first thing she said to me was 'You are NOT going to die of breast cancer. I cannot tell you how much those words meant to me six years ago. I had breast cancer in one breast but chose to have a bilateral mastectomy. I appreciate how she alleviated my fears.
Breast cancer is so hard to go through, I experienced conflicts with myself on what would be the best conclusion for me reconstruct not reconstruct... In my case, I decided I did not want reconstruction, there are just too many complications that can occur. I wanted to be one and done. Dr. Dewing is compassionate and performed an absolutely beautiful aesthetic flat closure that I have absolutely no problem with. I might get a tattoo later. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I wanted the best available care. Dr. DeWing delivered at every level. Her medical background is impressive-UC Davis Medical School and University of Iowa-both highly competitive medical schools with very selective acceptance criteria. I placed myself in her hands and it has been an over-the-top experience. Dr. DeWing is truly among the best!
Dr. DeWing is a caring, awesome physician. She did my surgery and was always clear and concise in her explanations of care and making me feel confident in her abilities. Great physician!
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Dewing. She was professional, caring, and quite nice. she did my breast cancer surgery in July 2016.
