This company is a complete scam !!! They have take thousands of dollars from me and have denied coverage over and over again. Do not pick this company for health insurance. You are better off paying for things out of pocket.

Horrible customer service! I have been trying to get a physical paid for and they told me that I had a breach in the timing. No, my physical was delayed by three months due to Covid-19. They said they would have it reprocessed. Well, after several phone calls and talking to a supervisor who said he would escalate the claim and it would be looked at within 24 hours, they still haven't gotten to it! (7 days after talking to him) and six weeks after first talking to customer service. After much digging, I found the name of the ... read more

This company CAN’T EVEN PRODUCE A PAYMENT CONFIRMATION/RECEIPT FOR YOU. I’m sorry, is it 2020? Or 1920? Come on people. How hard is it to produce a receipt for a payment made? We pay our utility bills, they email a confirmation. We pay credit cards, they email a confirmation. We order a pizza, they email confirmation. We shop online, they email receipts and order confirmations. But Ucare and “their system”— if you want some sort of general payment history, the “document” (as they refer to it), is available in THIRTY business... read more

I chose the wrong provider! Apparently they are completely incompetent. My insurance information didn't arrive until well into the year, causing issues with providers and prescriptions despite them saying we could just provide our information. Billing is messed-up as well. After getting through all of this, I finally got my procedure set-up and the providers all gave me cost information which I was to provide to Ucare to determine my cost. This was no small task. Happy to have all the information, I called Ucare. Al... read more

UCare tries very hard to NOT pay for items they claim they pay for. I had a dentist appointment in late October and the clinic told me they could not do bite-wing x-rays of my teeth because it was ONE DAY short of a year since I'd had them done last, and UCare would not pay for them. Then, in early December, I had my annual eye exam, which UCare says they cover. The problem is, they didn't cover everything. They found something (a test the ophthalmologist wanted done) that they refused to pay. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO glad I select... read more

I don't know how they are even in business. I signed up for private coverage starting November 1, 2019. After not receiving any paperwork, no bills, no card by mid November I called and they said that I needed to pay my first payment. I told them I didn't even know what the amount of the payment was as I had received NOTHING but I would be happy to do so if they could provide something. They said I could create an online account to access it and pay. Great. I access the online account and there is NO information, no bill, no... read more

I signed up for UCare for 2019, and will NEVER do so again. I had my standard 5 year colonoscopy, and since I was having another issue, the doctor decided to take a small sample "scrape" while in there to check if I had something he thought I might have. (I didn't have anything.) And I had a clear colonoscopy. Get the bill, UCare won't pay a thing! First they tell me they only pay for them once every 10 years, which is crazy. I tell them I had a non-cancerous polyp in my first colonoscopy, which was removed, so I was on the ... read more

While returning home from a vacation in Morocco, I became ill and was put off the airplane in Paris. I spent 11 days in a Paris hospital receiving medical treatment. I was required to pay the hospital bill in order to be discharged and receive my "fit to fly" form to complete my trip home. I submitted a claim to UCare for my out-of-pocket medical expenses. My UCare policy purported to cover medical expenses incurred in a foreign country. This was acknowledged to me by the company--they even provided the precise policy langua... read more

I have used UCare as my Medicare supplement for almost four years and am very pleased with their plans. I don’t have to worry about processing claims, most doctors are participating providers, the company is non-profit., and their customer service has been very helpful with questions that I have had. I must admit, I am very surprised at some of the poor reviews that I have seen. Not a true picture of my experiences with the company!
