I’ve been wanting to write this review for a while now, but with a new baby, life has been crazy! I actually heard about Dr. Gillian Mackay through a UCSD nurse who spoke wonders of her. After reading awesome reviews and researching her background, I knew I wanted her as my OB. It was a bit tough to get an initial appointment since she’s so popular, but it was 100% worth it. She saw me from week 20 all the way to the end. I had an induction on a Friday, and since she was off that weekend, she unfortunately couldn't deliver m... read more
Vania at the front was so rude and refused to help with a basic request or check in. Please encourage staff to treat people with basic human kindness, especially considering for some, this may already be a traumatic or sensitive visit. The call center has been helpful. No amount of money, donations, or reputation excuses making patients feel disrespected, unsafe, and neglected—especially during pregnancy and childbirth. Shame on an institution that charges the most yet delivers so little compassion, accountability, or basic competence.
I had my initial appt for my second pregnancy just last week and it was a very pleasant experience. I was seen by Caroline Connor and she was very kind, gentle, respectful and thorough. The front desk staff was also kind and helpful. I also had a same day blood draw that I did not have an appt for and I only waited about 10 mins. The phlebotomist was also very efficient and skilled. Thank you UCSD OB La Jolla :)
