I had my initial appt for my second pregnancy just last week and it was a very pleasant experience. I was seen by Caroline Connor and she was very kind, gentle, respectful and thorough. The front desk staff was also kind and helpful. I also had a same day blood draw that I did not have an appt for and I only waited about 10 mins. The phlebotomist was also very efficient and skilled. Thank you UCSD OB La Jolla :)

I sought care at this institution expecting excellence, especially given its astronomical prices and reputation for receiving enormous private donations. What I experienced instead was one of the most stressful and dehumanizing periods of my life—during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery. 5 stars for Dr. Shira Varon!! I’m 39, and I have struggled with debilitating endometriosis since I was 16 years old. I am done having kids and have been dealing with perimenopause symptoms that have been really inconvenient in my life. If you’re an expectant mother and you’re considering UCSD because it’s “high awards for maternity care”, don’t! I’m 36 weeks pregnant and have had 2 of my appointments canceled by UCSD with no communication. I’ve just opened my Mychart and the appointments disappear. When you call, you sit on hold forever just to get ahold of a scheduler who cannot help you. They’ll claim “we tried to call you, we left messages” but you won’t ever see those calls or messages, they never were placed because the staff is straight up lazy :) Th... read more

Had to wait about 6 months for an appointment and then once I got the appointment realized it’s gonna be another 6 to actually get the surgery I needed. I had questions regarding my surgery and the OBGYN came off a bit dismissive and I felt silly for being concerned about all of the expensive and painful gynecological issues I’ve had over the past 3 years.
