RecommendedHad a very unexpected equine death on a weekend in Sac. They took my 8 year old mustang in immediately. and conducted a thorough necropsy without a finding. All the staff was very kind and the doctor couldn’t have been more empathetic. They made a horrific experience bearable.

I've had numerous vetting experiences over the years & the vetting has been great. I appreciate having UCD within driving distance. I really appreciated the ophthalmologist working to get my horse in so quick for his surgery. I'm disappointed that of the non-eye related biopsies I still have not been given the results, & it's been two weeks. I just keep getting told a different vet will call me to discuss those biopsies with me. I'm also disappointed that I requested my horse be given a water tub instead of relying on the sm... read more
The hospital doctors, staff and students are helpful, responsive, and caring.
I couldn't have asked for a more positive experience during a tragic situation. The medical staff was informative, comforting, and excellent at guiding us through our most humane course of action for our horse. They also provided us with grief counseling after our loss, which was at our decision to euthanize over a risky surgery that could have left him further traumatized. Please don’t let them work on your animals. Ask how much training they have had on your type Of animal!!! Yesterday my daughters goat died in her arms, because the way the catheter was inserted Please ask!!!!!!
