I had a gastroscopy appointment at 4:30 PM that required 10 hours of fasting. When I arrived, the admitting desk was closed and I was told the staff were on break. The gastroscopy department could not proceed because I had to be admitted first. After waiting for 1.5 hours, I was informed that my procedure had to be rescheduled because no one from admitting was available. I brought my younger brother here for dental surgery recently, he is living with autism so the family was quite nervous for him. I want to say that I am SO impressed with the staff and how they handled everything as well as how kind and understanding they were towards my little brother’s specific needs. I would like to specifically mention Gretchen who was the primary contact for the surgery, she was an absolute delight who made a huge impact on not just my little brother but my whole family. I had a full hip replacement on Wednesday August 6th, if I was fit enough the surgeon elected day surgery. On no less the 4 occasions I was assured that if needed, a bed was available. The day started quite early at 0615 checkin, the admission personnel were quick efficient and polite. We waited about 25 minutes in the pre surgery wait room before I was called in for the pre-op.
