Yesterday I had an HSG test for the first time at UBC hospital. I had extreme anxiety anticipating this test but the staff and doctor who did my exam were so accommodating and gentle. I have vaginismus which makes tests like this a lot more difficult. One of the nurses Sam held my hand and comforted me during the entire time. The doctor kindly allowed me to take breaks in between the test to check in with me or to tell me what was happening next. In the end - the exam was not as bad as I had anticipated.
