HAD A ROCKY TIME AFTER THE BIRTH OF MY NOW 5 YO DAUGHTER, BUT CHALK THAT UP TO STRESSED/OVERWORKED NURSES, A PROBLEM AT MOST HOSPITALS. HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE AND AM ALIVE NOW THANKS TO THE HEMATOLOGY DEPT HERE. CAME IN WITH 2,000 PLATELETS ON FRIDAY AFTER BEING TURNED AWAY FROM MY DR'S OFFICE AND LOCAL HOSPITAL ER. THANKFUL THAT I MADE THE HOUR-LONG JOURNEY SAFELY AND AM NOW BEING TREATED AND WILL SEE MY NEW DOC ON MONDAY. ALL CAPS ON PURPOSE TO DRIVE HOME A POINT.
As a volunteer chaplain at the UAMS WPR Cancer Institute, I am proud to be part of the patient care team. My wife, too, received excellent care during this visit.
UAMS saved my and my daughters' lives. Had my first daughter at 26 weeks due to severe preeclampsia that tried to kill us both. She turned out pretty amazing...healthy with no typical preemie issues! My second pregnancy was much more difficult but because of the awesome doctors and hospital staff, I was able to carry her 6 weeks longer and had her at 32 weeks. The doctors and nurses are great but it shouldn't take 30 days to request the information you need to file an insurance claim that has to be submitted in 14 days to get your money back. It's been nothing but stress trying to get everything sorted out and the hospital just adds more to it.

I had a son January 23, 2014 &another December 27, 2014 at UAMS. I can happily say that they were born perfectly fine with no problems. This past Wednesday at 4:00pm in the afternoon I had our baby girl. She was born with amniotic fluid in her throat and tummy. It messed with her oxygen and they kept her in NICU for a couple nights. They fixed her all up and now she's ALL the way better! I have the nurses &doctors from UAMA to thank.
