The team has been great, before and after mt kidney transplant.
Donated kidney 12 weeks ago. Besides the hospital stay being nothing short of pure torture, uams is sending me to collections for bills I’m not responsible for paying. As a living donor, all medical expenses are paid by recipients insurance. I had to have some outside testing that they said they pay 100%…. They are also in collections and I’m being threatened legal action. They said my wife doesn't qualify for a liver transplant. Come back in 6 months. When she got sicker and called and emailed no one answered. Ever! She died in 5 months. She was calling at month 3 of the 6 month check up. No response. No calls. No emails. Still making appointments 4 months after her death. Transplant center is TRASH!
To say the staff is beyond incompetent is an understatement. They never answer the phones when you need someone, meds filled, or have an emergency. When they do finally decide to return a call, it could be a week to a month. If you have to use extra gas to find another nephologist or nephrology department, I would highly suggest doing that.
