Totally useless
Since UAB Callahan purchased this practice from Dr Sputh this practice has absolutely tanked ! So many issues it’s just unbelievable! You can’t get anyone on the phone at the local office , you can’t pay your bill online , the staff is completely unaware or untrained or doesn’t care I’m really not sure but they are also rude ! I began at this practice when Dr Yeargen was the Dr and have stuck around for decades but this buyout was too much! Too much Doctor turnover in 3 years to continue going here (3 new doctors in 3 years). I was called last week and informed that the last ophthalmologist in this group was becoming a specialty surgeon and my only option was one optometrist. Will be finding another doctor in town--it's obvious UAB can't handle two separate branches. They've also had to close their glasses store, due to short-staffing (the only guy that worked it had health issues and I guess they couldn't find anyone else to take over?). Dr. Michelle Langkawel and the team at UAB Callahan Eye Tuscaloosa were absolutely fantastic. Within minutes Dr. Langkawel found the issue with my grandmother’s eye that two other doctors missed. Everyone was very kind, patient, and professional. I would highly recommend this team.
