Made a reservation one month in advance for a 20ft truck and tow dolly. 2 days before pick up, we called to confirm location of the truck and they told us sorry, no trucks available in your state, of any size. Good luck. No attempt to honor reservation, nothing. This is 2 days before we have to leave. And we are moving across the whole country. If you can not honor reservations, then why do you have them. I made an online reservation for a 6x12 trailer on Feb 21s to be picked up in or near Arvada, CO on 4/29t. I got an email confirmation stating someone would contact me 4/28 the day prior to my 4/29 pickup. I got a call on 4/28 saying my pickup location is in Glenwood Springs - a 4 hour drive from my house. The lady on the phone was not helpful when I explained I could not drive 4 hours away and then 4 hours back to load my move. We were 4 hours late on a rental return, keys were put in drop box and then got the receipt that we were charged for another FULL 24 hour rental period. Store was closed at 1:00 PM so we were unable to call them once we realized we would be late getting back. Returned the truck and decided to call today to dispute the extra day. Called the store this morning, nothing they can do. Called customer service, they emailed the district manager, manager called me and told me nothing she can do. My sister wanted to rent from U-Haul she needed help with the down payment I paid down payment only with no contract no signature in my name my sister didn't pay her balance so they still had my credit card on file even though I didn't have a contract I didn't rent the U-Haul vehicle they took the remaining balance $248.33 out of my account I feel this is a rip off I want to warn others not to provide your credit card unless you are the contractor. I'm moving across the country and they canceled my 2 week old reservation less than 24 hours before my pick-up time and was told they don't have any trucks or trailers leaving the state in the foreseeable future. Customer service blamed it on their website giving reservations without knowing inventory and are aware of people reservations made months ago that are being canceled as well. Avoid at all costs.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/FRAUDULENT CHARGES On Sunday 4/25/21 I rented a Econoline van from a local U-haul vendor at a gas station. When I received the van the gas tank was at about 5/8ths full. After driving a total of 98 miles in a van that averages about 15mpg I got back to the U-Haul vendor and my tank had gone down to just above 3/8ths full so I drove up to the pump and got $15 of gas which brought me back a hair under 5/8ths full. First time in my life I left an appointment for a service without getting what I came for. I wanted to get a trailer hitch and wiring harness installed. 1) No one was in the store. Not a big deal, but: 2) When I went outside, three employees were just standing there chatting. I was waiting for someone to ask what I needed. I made a reservation a month before I needed the truck and trailer. I even modified the reservation several weeks after that and no one even suggested the possibility of them not having the equipment they implied they had by never mentioning anything otherwise. Now they say there are no one way vehicles and want more money for another service even though all of this is solely their responsibility. After listening to my voicemails/emails it seems they even called/emailed this morning and said they had a truck...then called/emailed back 15 minutes later and said nevermind. Also, since they canceled my reservation (which I never said I wanted, I said I would call back) I am not able to leave a review for my order. I want to reiterate that the customer service people were more than helpful in explaining then issue. They should get a raise for dealing with U-Haul corporate policy failures.

I purchased a tow hitch online to have it installed at my local store, location 400 Orchard Dr West Columbia, 29170, on 3Apr2021. Later that same day I received a confirmation email for my install date for 14Apr2021 at 2pm. When I got to the store they were unaware of any hitch install for me. According to there computer system my order was "grey", which seemed to me not ready to be installed.
