This was my first time using U-Haul, and it will also be my last. I rented a truck for just two hours and, thankfully, I was careful enough to take photos before and after my rental. The next day, I discovered I had been charged over $12 for fuel and an additional $20 after-hours return fee. The after-hours fee is especially frustrating because I specifically asked the employee what I needed to do when returning the truck. I am very disappointed with my experience at U-Haul. I had been receiving a manager-approved discount, but as soon as that manager left the company, my discount was taken away with no consideration or effort to honor the agreement. It feels like customer loyalty means nothing, and the lack of consistency in how customers are treated is frustrating. Very good experience and everything was just smooth. They are very organized over at the site. Just be aware that the gas mileage of these trucks are not maintained to be economically on par.
