This is our new sushi place! Me, husband and 2 of our adult children came to check it out around 5pm on a Saturday night. My husband and I love sushi and enjoy finding great restaurants all over western Washington. Our daughters aren't as enthusiastic about raw seafood which was perfect because they have a great selection of cooked food as well. Reservation for 2, we were brought to a weird spot right against the staircase at the entrance with all the restaurant traffic so we asked for the bar which they were totally fine with us moving to. I got the KOI Mule which was below average, sickly sweet, low carbonation and low ginger spice. I was eyeing the King Salmon Carpaccio but the bartender recommended the Hamachi Carpaccio. We always have such a wonderful time and experience at TheKoi, and this time was no exception. The care and service that we received from Casey, our server, was exceptional! If you want great service coupled with phenomenal sushi, ask to sit in his area. You won’t be disappointed!
I’ve had amazing sushi here and have visited multiple times, but my recent experiences have been frustrating. On more than one occasion, I’ve made a reservation several hours in advance specifically requesting a booth. When we arrive, the host either cannot find the reservation or tells us booths are only for parties of four, despite the reservation request.
