I have eaten frequently at Tweets and the experience had always been excellent. Though not known for their steaks, I highly recommend the Delmonico, melts in your mouth. The seafood is always fresh and expertly prepared. Staff is what you would expect from a family style restaurant, friendly, folksy and always accommodating.
Have only been once. The food was disgusting and the service was poor. It was as if since they didnt recognize us that they werent going to try very hard. It felt like you had to be a local to be treated decent as I saw how others were treated that were seated around us.
Seriously AVOID this Place. AVOID AVOID AVOID!I went to this place an year ago with my girlfriend and ordered their clam chowder as an appetizer and a clam/mussles steam pot. I was expecting it to be a really tasty meal.The chowder was really good, but the seafood in the steam pot was all sandy. Every bite. The clams, mussles, sausage...It was seriously inedible. We had a large party of 15 people. Good thing we called ahead and made a reservation. The food was decent, if i was a teacher i would grade it B+. The staff was great, no problems at all. The food came out extreemly fast, even with our huge party. I will deffinatly go back. The restaurant was full on saturday night, so i do reccomend you make a reservation before you go. Try it out. My steak was cooked perfect. Clams casino, smelts, conche salad was delitious. Give them a try, you wont be unsatisfied.
These people dont know what they are talking about. Grew up at tweets, and when my daughter was born she loves it as well. Cant wait to get back to RI to go back :)
My wife and I had the Tweets special and we both though that it was bland. I topped it with a lot of parmesan to make it palatable. Maybe it was a bad night for the cook. The prices are very competitive and the atmosphere was casual.
Need to hire an Italian cook , the sauce is burnt and food comes out cold. Sauce should be bright red and full of fresh ingredients, theirs is over cooked from a can. Grandpa Balzano would turn in his grave that his Restaurant turned bad.
Great food at a great price. Try the new outside bar. Flat screen tv, cheap drinks and entertainment some nights. The only complaint I have is they love to use a lot of garlic in their food. It tastes great when you are eating it, but you need a bit of mouthwash the next morning.
