Surprisingly mediocre. Pescatarian, so didnt taste the full menu, but what we had was just okay. Service was really slow - seemed like they were down a hand or two. The best dish was honestly the little gems salad. For the price, you can find way better in this town. Won’t go again, but I will say I like the service charge model and am done with tipping. That said, the service needs to be at the level I would tip 20% for. 1 person working the whole patio isn’t going to cut it.
I LOVE this restaurant! It was wonderful in every way, from the ambiance to the creative drinks and great service to the really special food. The food is exceptional and unusually tasty and interesting. Going to Tusk is a very enjoyable and complete experience with a great vibe. And the prices are very fair.
This meal surprised me at how good it was! Our group did one of the tasting menu options. The portions were all great and flavor of every dish was great, I really enjoyed it. However, the desserts were lacking, Id love to see improvement there because it was not the best way to end a great meal. Service could improve, they were not the most attentive. I would definitely come back and definitely in a group to do a tasting menu again.
Top 3 spot in Portland. Go for the chefs choice/magic carpet if you can.
