We were having a good time at Tusk. Food & cocktails were tasty. Then we got the bill. There was a $3 up charge for a Vesper made with house vodka & gin. Was I told? No. I’ve never paid an up charge for a standard cocktail. A disappointing end to our evening. We won’t go back.
Surly staff. Not attentive.
Tusk is one of those places we make time for every single time we’re in Portland. For me, it’s the best darn Mediterranean food in the city. The service hits exactly the right note: attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without turning dinner into a lecture. Amazing anniversary dinner. Go for the Deluxe Edition meal. You pick a salad and protein and restrictions, they bring you a multi course meal for $78 including gratuity at time of writing. I love a restaurant that offers to order for you - as Anton Ego from Ratatouille says "hit me with your best shot" - and they absolutely delivered.
