Things I Wish I Knew Before Signing a Lease Here It’s 2025, and this complex is still stuck in the past. No autopay. No grace period. One day late = late fee, no exceptions. You’re required to pay for cable, even if you don’t use it — that’s $552 a year down the drain. Add another $264/year for trash valet, which would be great… if they actually showed up. I’m trying really hard to enjoy living here. I toured many apartments while searching for the right one. I didn’t want some “cookie cutter” place. I wanted somewhere that could feel like a home. Well, on the outside this seemed perfect. I loved the character of the apartment buildings inside and out. UPDATE: The leasing office has taken some steps to resolve some of the items on our initial move-in checklist. We now have our bathroom cabinet door and living room light/fan structure fixed. There are also plans to replace the aging tile in our kitchen with hardwood floor. It's been an incredibly frustrating experience living at Turtle Creek. First I’ll say that I’m writing this on my first day in the apartment. First thing that I noticed (being a software engineer) the website that they force you to use to manage everything about living here (documents, payment, work requests, etc) is terrible. Maybe it’s because I’ve only used it on my phone, but this day in age it should be expected that it’s going to be accessed from a mobile device by the majority of residents.
