Best place to have a party!!!! – My friends and I are regulars at Turtle Bay, and for a friend's birthday I called and asked if I could set up a party for her. We got the most AMAZING deal!!!!! I ended up getting an open bar special for all my friends that included beer, wine and mixed drinks for TWO HOURS!!!!!! The music is always fantastic, and the staff is hilarious. Artie Tobia Band...Best Live Music in NYC... tuesday nights – I am a musicaholic....I go out weekly listening to the" best " live music in the city. I am a regular in all the "music venues". I have never been inclined to write about a band or artist I have seen. Would never recommend – All I have to say is don't believe anything they tell you. Had a private party here (70ppl!) and had set on a price pp with downpayment and everything but the day of event they try to renegg on it and wanted to charge my friends more at the last minute. They even tried to charged some our friends who paid already, as marked on the guestlist. Our "private" space was opened to the public and they pushed us together with their own private party. Great bartending service – Turtle Bay is a great after-work and weekend spot to enjoy drinks with friends. The bartending service is outstanding. They were all very attentive and made great mixed drinks (epecially the female bartender). The food is also very tasty and comes in good portions (I highly recommend the barbecue chicken wrap!) My friends and I will definately be making Turtle Bar our regular spot.
Scary Atmosphere – The manager is an absolute maniac... he screams at the bartenders and dj like nobodies business.. My friends and I were horrified!! Overall the place was OK, but I'm not sure I wanna be in that scene again! Dollar mugs have their appeal but that only goes so far..
lousy service – went there for the new years party and was told top shelf liquor, not only was it not top shelf they wouldn't let us do shots and the female bartender was rather unfriendly. will not be going back there again.
Shame on you – This place is a rip off. My friends had reserved a private room for the night for NYE and was quoted $85 pp, gratuity included with a open bar top shelf. When I got there we were told that the private room that my friend had already paid for was unavailable. That's not even the worse part, when I got there they made me pay $115 even though I was told it was $85, the gratuity wasn't included and they didn't know what the meaning of top shelf was. Credit Card Theft and a Rude Bouncer – Stay away from here. We went there this weekend to watch a football. It's overcrowded with slow service. We wanted to just leave so we asked for the bill. The waitress brought the bill back without the credit card. We confronted them and were told that it wasn't a big deal and that they probably just gave it to the wrong customer. Avoid this bar in general – The Turtle Bay Grille & Lounge is by far one of the worst bars in New York City. The service by the bartenders was abysmal and the bouncers were rude and misogynistic. I have never been so badly treated in my entire life. NEVER go here.
