Plain food – I had luch on Friday there. Ordered vegetable casserole. It was tasteless. I am Armenian and know how Turkish food should taste. It was bland and service was non existent. Portions were very tiny for the price. You better off at the Indian Place on 94.The tea was yummy
AMAZING and authentic Turkish food!!! – We just moved to the UWS and have been exploring the restaurant scene. We decided to go to Turkuaz. You walk into a beautiful bar area. You then go in a bit further to see an incredible (air-conditioned) Bedouin-like tent. It is enormous!!! So cool. The fresh, WARM bread was awesome. So many wonderful appetizers, like a spinach pie, amazing veggie spreads, etc... The wine list is kickass and very, very reasonable (we had a great Pinot Grigio for $33 a bottle.) We were so full on apps t... read more
Excellent Turkish food and great ambiance. – Been there for dinner a couple of times (once for bday dinner with another couple) and the food and service was great. Consistently good. It's quite far from me but it's worth the trek to upper west side. if by chance it's too crowded there's plenty of other options in the neighborhood. I've not seen the belly dancing but I've heard from friends it's awesome. They also offer an All-You-Can-Eat Sunday brunch that has to be delicious b/c everything else was but I haven't gone just y... read more
The Geatest Turksih Cuisine – The restaurant has authentic decoration like a tribal-tent with the servers? matching outfits. With the belly dancer, Friday and Saturday nights are real mediterian rhapsody that you can also become part of it quickly. Great food, Turkish wines and Raki (Turkish brandy) those complimenting the food are from middle-eastern through mediterian cuisines. Every food and decoration has its unique stories, ask the kind Turkish servers they would tell you. The Turkish coffee and deserts are also the sig... read more
Simply the best! – Always excellent food, service and atmosphere. My wife and I often eat at Turkuaz and we are never disappointed. We recently had dinner with some friends to celebrate my graduation and tried new dishes (Red Snapper special) that were excellent! The service is the best I have ever had in NY and I will highly recommend to all!
ABSOLUTLEY, POSITIVLEY the BEST Turkish Restaurant in NYC!!!! – This is the BEST Turkish Restaurant in NYC. The food is authentic, the service is perfect. The atmosphere brings me back to Turkey. I have brought my business associates here, my family ,and a date or two ;-) all in all... the restaurant is reasonably priced. The menu is varied and caters to all tastes and hunger levels. If you want a large sumptuous meal or a light appetizer, this is the place for you. even vegetarians are well taken care of here! It is a great... read more
redemption for ethnic brunches – I came here because I told my brother that I will join him for breakfast on sunday but in general I cant stand all you can eat brunches ( and he knows that) something about the buffet amounts and endless lines of people getting offended when you cut them to go to the one dish you are interested in. But alas, the food was wonderful and dish by dish the score went higher in my book. The fish kebabs and okra dishes were really very speacial and the deserts were very exotic. The best part was tha... read more
Excellent service – I went there on a Mon night and service was excellent, maybe because they only had a few tables? But my water glass was kept filled and I have a feeling the wait staff lingered after their shift so that my party could continue chatting. We felt no pressure to leave, even though we were there for maybe 3.5 hours. Also, the chicken shish kebab is good.
nice atmosphere – I"ve been to turkuaz many times and i have no complaints. Good food and friendly service. I love their zucchini pancakes and baklava.
