Traveling through Sioux Falls with my wife and 4 kids, my rear differential went out on my Suburban. Tuffy Auto agreed to repair it while I finished my week long trip (in a rental), and have it ready for me to pick up on my way back through on the following Saturday. The parts vendor Tuffy had been used to dealing with had some major malfunctions in providing the correct part by the deadline. This meant our vehicle took 5 days longer to be repaired than promised. I would never take any future vehicles to this scam artist. Service Manager scott quotes me a 750 quote. That quote consisted of a new set of tires and ball joints. Tires being 400 of that. Day of pick up he says its 1750. Took it upon himself to fix anything that he saw fit. Told him he initially quoted me the 750. He tells me that's not common sense and continues to talk down to me. My girlfriend is driving to Washington state from Arkansas, pregnant and with her 15 year old son. She called me last night from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was worried because she had a wobble. I told her she probably had a busted belt in her tire and at worse a bad wheel bearing (I own a repair shop in Wa. state). Bought some new tires and the tires are great. It would of been better if the technician that did the service would of torqued down my tires properly. Lucky for me the front passenger tire didn't come off while I was driving.
Terrible place! I went in for a 19.99 oil change and tire rotation. I ended up paying almost $100 for an oil change, tire rotation, alignment (they showed me how "bad" my current one was) and a new road noise. Now the car makes a weird growling noise when I hit speeds above 30 mph. When I immediately took it back to them they said the rim was bent. It sure wasn't when I took it there and it sure as hell didn't make the noise it does now either. I will never go back to that place again. I doubt they even did the oil change. B... read more
