I have attended ui eye institute for well over 20 years. When Dr. Sugar retired he said. I have only one Doctor I'd like to handle your case. It was Dr. Tu. I've had 3 surgeries with him snd have not been disappointed. He is thorough snd and even called me after hours when I had a question after surgery. He's a wonderful caring pbysician.
Dr. Tu is great. But the experience once you are outside the room - not so much. Very slow to respond to MyChart messages, if at all. Impossible to get someone on the phone, even after a surgery when you have questions about the billions of eye drops. Insurance verification team is quite inefficient - they call over and over for the same thing, without reading the notes from the previous rep.
I really appreciated Dr. Tu's expertise yesterday! He helped unclog tear ducts and find resolution to an ongoing eye problem. Dr. Tu is a good listener, gentle and competent, full of insights and knowledge. Thank you! I also want to shout out to his staff, Aminah, Dr. Hanson, Latoya at the front desk-- they all made my experience as a first time patient smooth and comfortable even when my eyelids were being flipped over!
Worst Dr, stay away caused my sister to go blind.
Dr.Tu and his staff saved my eye. Through his guidance and expertise he orchestrated a treatment program that not only saved my eye. But also gave me some of my vision back. His professionalism,knowledge,integrity,and leadership are without question of the highest standards. I highly recommend him to anyone who was in as much pain and loss I had. Thank you Dr. Tu!
