Modern bistro in Gondola Square at Steamboat, centrally located. Great food, good wine list, and the staff are super friendly. Food is date night quality, but during the ski season it's a relaxed vibe (you can wear a baseball hat to hide the helmet hair if you need to lol). Terrible experience. The only real positive was that our server was very good and kind. Food was fine, but my steak and my friend's salmon were overcooked. We sent the fish back, and it came back borderline raw. Whatever, that happens, not a big deal. The lowlight was our interaction with the manager after we complained about the false labeling of cremini mushrooms as "wild mushrooms" in two of the dishes we ordered. The saddest ribeyes I've ever seen, allegedly 18oz but cut about 1/4" thick and barely seared. Wine is offered at 3.5x retail and mislabeled on the wine list. Duck was flavorless and the sides were cold. The only saving grace here was the appetizers - come for the bacon wrapped figs and the beets, but DEFINITELY leave without ordering an entree.
