Very disappointing experience at Tru by Hilton Fort Lauderdale Downtown. The biggest issue was cleanliness — I found cockroaches in the room, and I’m including photos with this review. That is completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one operating under the Hilton brand. The parking situation was also unnecessarily stressful. I specifically booked a Park and Stay rate because I was leaving on a cruise the following morning and needed the parking arrangements to be simple and reliable. A hotel is a hotel. Comfortable rooms, a convenient location, and good amenities are always appreciated, but what truly makes a stay memorable is the people behind the experience. During my stay at Tru by Hilton Fort Lauderdale, that person was Kiki at the front desk. I was going through a very sensitive, private, and difficult personal situation that was completely unrelated to the hotel.
