Tru by Hilton Grand Rapids delivered exactly what you want from a tournament stay. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed — genuinely great quality for the price. The staff is exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make the stay easy. As a Hilton member, I appreciated the $3 food credit — a small touch that adds up over a multi-night stay. The hotel is modern looking and clean. Front desk staff were friendly. My primary complaint is how thin the walls are. Hearing my neighbors and background hotel noise diminished the experience and cut into my ability to sleep. I mentioned this at checkout and the front desk person said they'd pass it along to the manager. The manager didn't take the time to call me back, having the front desk person call instead. Staff was super nice and helpful! Room was clean and smelled clean. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast was hot and good.
