I am an established glaucoma patient of approximately 2 years . There has always been issues with billing and the filing of insurance. At the conclusion of my Sep. 3rd appointment, I was presented with a bill in the amount of $175.00 for contact lens consultation. ( Other than being asked by Dr. Tevis “ Are you in need of contact lenses today “ ) there was no inquiry or request for anything regarding contact lenses . Urgent eye injury on Friday. He saw the patient who was undocumented and uninsured. He did not charge.
After cutting our vacation short and coming back into town early to make our scheduled appointments, we were called at 10AM the day of the appointments (three hours before the appointment) to tell us our appointments were canceled because the doctor was out of town. I went in today is a new patient to received my yearly eye exam. I noticed the two ladies working the front desk were not wearing a mask but I’ll let that go and continued to do the check in. While I was giving in my insurance information, I very politely ask if the technician and the doctor would wear a mask during my exam.
