Awful waitress/hostess! She was short empered, snappy and unprofessional from the start. She got very angry at me when I took back a "sticky date pudding" that was clearly some kind of self saucing horror from a supermarket. She slammed the till shut after refunding my money and was just very angry over all. After taking it back to the kitchen, she returned half way through the kitchen door saying very loudly.. "I dunno! Very welcome on a cold evening. A real local pub! The staff level of service was excellent and the where very friendly and attentive. Top marks. Even though it was the off season it was about 40% full for dinner. Their special for dinner was a ham burger which I would describe as ok. I had the sticky date pudding for dessert. Very very disappointed that the cream was that horrible stuff out of a can- not real cream. What the?? Not enough sauce on the pudding. Good size serve of ice-cream.

We had a quick drink before dinner, it was Friday night so busy but not uncomfortably busy. Quite assortment of drinks and a sip and save inside the hotel too. Meal looked ok may come back another night. Staff attentive and friendly.

Nice meals they have good meat tray raffles on Friday night. Depends on what time of year you visit you might need to make a reservation for dinner.
