She was short, insulting, lied to me, disrespectful, and MEAN. Something is wrong with her. Do not seek her help.
Do not recommend. I saw Dr. Troncoso for two visits. I decided she was not a good fit after she told me I would have to "get over" my difficulty in asking people for help (the type of thing that I in fact see a therapist to help with!). She also did not appear to have adapted to coronavirus precautions; she did not offer video visits and appeared to be extremely reluctant to do phone visits. My experience receiving therapy with Dr. Troncoso was extremely positive. Her patience, empathy, and compassion were a relief to me while going through a difficult time. She was understanding and allowed me to make payments on our outstanding balance. I would recommend her to anyone without reservation.
My husband forgot his insurance card and she literally said she wouldn't see him because "you probably won't pay". What kind of insensitive unprofessional thing is that?!
My last appointment with Dr. Troncoso ended disastrously. After weeks of expressing severe depression and a sense of helplessness Dr. Troncoso asked me whether or not I wanted to come back the following week because her sessions "didn't seem to be helping." Feeling as if I had exhausted my last option, I felt suicidal and had to go to the emergency room. Not only did Dr. Troncoso not help me, she actively worked against my healing. I strongly suggest seeking out counseling elsewhere.
Dr. Troncoso did not seem to have any hint of bedside manner or empathy. Her concerns regarding payment outweighed my mental/emotional wellbeing and her advice/observations were general and insincere.
