Tonya's grief counseling group was impactful in helping me through my recent loss. I felt safe throughout the 6 week class. I recommend this to anyone who is dealing with the loss of a loved one.
Tonya Ratliff is knowledgeable, realistic, down-to-earth, and kind. She has helped me over the last 10 years navigate raising my family while caring for aging parents and family members, and the challenges that come with it. She uses her training, expertise, and her own life to understand my feelings and experiences. She is a wonderful resource, and I would highly recommend her!
As a person wholly invested in my animals, I am so very disappointed to learn that this center turned away a grieving pet owner who wanted to seek comfort in a support group, citing that her grief would be “insulting” to others losses. Love, support networks, family and companions are so varied in our lifetime and an informed counselor would recognize that the loss of an animal companion may be as profound as that of human companion. Tonya reached out to let me know that even though I lost my nephew and my service dog, that attending her group would be an insult to the other members. What a sickening response.
