Yum! – I thought the food was AWESOME! I really enjoyed all the different tastes they had on the menu as well as the variety of choices. The only down fall was the service was a little slow. It took a long time for the waitress to get our drink order and between our first course and entree there was a lull. The wait was not excessive but it was apparent enough for us to notice. The waitress made up for her (or the kitchen's) slowness though with her pleasant personality. Overall a great experience.
A nice spot – I walked by Tresca countless times before venturing in-- glad I did! I've been to the bar a few times, and once to the dining room where I tried the tasting menu with matching flight. Not bad! The kitchen was accomodating to my tastes (I'm not a fan of truffle, an ingredient used in much of the menu) and the meal was paced nicely (excellent risotto). The pairings were good, although one wine was on its way to being corked. Our server was very accomodating and brought over a new wine right away. I reccomend goin... read more
Tasty but somewhat overpriced – Some friends and I went here on a Friday night. It was busy and noisy but we got a table within 20 minutes with no reservation. We had a couple different waiters, since the frist one was sent home during our meal (we were never told why) - both were nice, efficient and helpful. The bread basket is really good. Salads wonderful and pasta dishes pretty good. We also had a dessert pizza that was delicious. We got a decent bottle of wine ($45) but it was still served in what seemed like undersized... read more
He shoots, he scores – Not the best restaurant in the North End, but still an excellent experience. Very warm, inviting dining room upstairs. Excellent food and attentive service, but prepare yourself to stay awhile to enjoy your meal, as there's no rush to get diners in and out of there. Also be prepared to spend lots of $$$ - menu is a bit overpriced. Chances are you won't see co-owner Ray Bourque present - but the other co-owner(s) and manager are constantly visible, checking in with diners on their overall experience and... read more
$30 French fries – The service was o.k. Got bread plate after bread was finished. The main course was bland and expensive. We had pasta and pork dish which was served with french fries-not very italian for $30! The beet salad is superb, as well as, the tomato soup! They had nice music, it was quite noisy.
Stylish restaurant provides the North End with yet another upscale locale serving gourmet Italian fare. – In Short Tresca, which serves multi-regional Italian, sports an acclaimed wine cellar that houses more than 500 vintages. The main dining area, with its fireplace and slightly rustic feel, yields a romantic atmosphere. One of the North End's priciest menus includes a lengthy assortment of hand-made pastas (ricotta ravioli with green garlic and sweet pea puree) and prime steaks and chops (veal porterhouse with broccoli ra... read more
Friendly Staff and Wonderful Food – My husband and I went to celebrate our 1st anniversary. The food was exceptional, especially the chicken with homemade fennel sausage. The wait staff was friendly and great at paring wine with our food choices. We would definitely go back next time we are in Boston.
Wonderful Experience – What a culinary experience. My wife and I dined here recently and were treated wonderfully as we put our faith in the chef's tasting. From the appetizers to the main course was truly a delight. Their wine list is exceptional and reccomendations were superb. If you have the opportunity, there is a two seat table on the balcony overlooking Hanover Street. Try to make a reservation for that if available.
Substandard at extraordinary prices – It was busy and noisy, but service was prompt. The food was surprisingly bland. Entrees were all over $30, and while the quality of the food was good, it was fairly tasteless--the fish as well as the beef. The pastas were OK, but again without a lot of flavor. There were tastes of roux and some salt. The "wild mushroom " sauce tasted viscous and almost syrupy (much like airline sauces, held for hours or days), and the mushrooms themselves were tough to cut and to chew. Overall, we were q... read more
